Detailed description of the Caring for the Destination Initiative: 

When you participate in this tour you will meet the different communities of Ilha Grande; the "Caiçaras" and their simple way of life. Sometimes there is the opportunity to pay a local boy or even a man to guide you in some short trail that is not part of the main trekking. Your tour guide for this trek is personally committed to setting up a project which will teach the local children to guide tourists around the island, which would be zoned in order to have participation to several communities.

Part of the profits we receive from your participation, we donate to CODIG  - Committee of Defence of Ilha Grande to help with its fight against those who have the intention to build large hotels, resorts, and big houses along the coast and beaches.
