Shopping in Ilha Grande

Ilha Grande does not have a strong shopping trade and is therefore not a place for shopaholics. There are no glitzy shops, supermarkets and malls here; however, you can buy some handicrafts and clothes from small shops on the island. If you're looking for the usual array of shorts, t-shirts and swimsuits, one of these shops will do. For great designs and varied styles, head for the malls in Rio.

Fridge magnets, t-shirts and other knick-knacks at Vila do Abraão make good souvenirs for friends, though there's isn't really anything typical of Ilha Grande to take home.
