Supporting local culture / community
Detailed description of the Caring for the Destination Initiative:
Have a more authentic holiday experience on Ilha Grande by staying in a hotel really connected to community life. At the Pousada Bossa Nova the owner, Mr Fernando, is actively involved in countless community initiatives, including sponsorship of the local surf championship on Lopes Mendes Beach and the annual sail race for the preservation of island. He also provides financial support for "capoeira" events; festivals of music and folk dances. By staying here you can help contribute a little to his community commitment and also rest assured the staff are well looked after, too - they are all sent to SENAC courses when the mobile tuition comes to the island.
