Despite being very close to the centre of the village, Porto Abraão offers conditions for a peaceful rest because it is not on a very busy street.
The pousada is a two-storied building and began its operations in 2005. It belongs to a local businessman known throughout the island as "Gilson Maluco." Meaning crazy in Portuguese, Maluco also owns the traditional bar and restaurant, "Casarão da Ilha," in the central square.
A night porter is on duty from 22h00 until the arrival of the first official in the morning.
Good breakfast is served in an airy hall with TV and music.
